FMIPA UGM and FMIPA Unila Expand Tridharma Collaboration with ITERA

South Lampung — In an effort to strengthen the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Gadjah Mada University (UGM) together with the FMIPA University of Lampung (Unila) made an academic visit to the Faculty of Science, Sumatra Institute of Technology (ITERA) on June 9 2026. Activities This is an important momentum to strengthen the collaborative network between universities in the fields of education, research and community service.

The UGM FMIPA delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Fajar Adi Kusumo, S.Si., M.Sc., who serves as Deputy Dean for Alumni, Cooperation and Innovation as well as Professor of the Mathematics Department, FMIPA UGM. Also present in the group were Prof. Dr. rer. Nat. Indah Emilia Wijayati, M.Sc., Head of the Mathematics Doctoral Study Program; Dr. Indarsih, M.Sc., Secretary of the Mathematics Masters Study Program; and Dr. Adhitya Ronnie Effendie.

Meanwhile, FMIPA Unila was represented by Prof. Wamiliana, Ph.D., Warsono, Ph.D. as Chair of the Unila FMIPA Collaboration Team, Dr. Ahmad Faisol, M.Sc. as Secretary of the Mathematics Department, Dr. Fitriani, M.Sc. as Coordinator of the Master of Mathematics Study Program, and Dr. Edwin Russel.

The presence of the two institutions was welcomed by the ITERA Faculty of Science, represented by Dr. Rifky Fauzi as Head of the ITERA Mathematics Study Program together with a number of lecturers in the Faculty of Science. In his speech, Dr. Rifky Fauzi expressed his appreciation for the establishment of communication and collaboration between institutions which is considered to be able to strengthen the quality of higher education, especially in the development of mathematics and science.

The meeting took place in a warm atmosphere and full of collaborative spirit. Various opportunities for collaboration were the main topics of discussion, starting from developing a curriculum that is adaptive to the needs of the times, carrying out joint research, collaborative scientific publications, lecturer and student exchange programs, to community service activities that provide real benefits for the wider community.

On this occasion, Prof. Fajar Adi Kusumo emphasized that collaboration between higher education institutions is an important step in responding to various global challenges and encouraging the development of science and innovation. In line with this, representatives of FMIPA Unila expressed the hope that the existing collaboration could support increasing institutional capacity, expanding academic networks, and producing increasingly competitive graduates.

Through this meeting, FMIPA UGM, FMIPA Unila, and the ITERA Faculty of Science are committed to continuing to strengthen synergy in implementing the Tridharma of Higher Education. It is hoped that the collaboration built can develop into various sustainable strategic programs and make a real contribution to the progress of higher education and the development of science in Indonesia.
