Two UGM Doctoral Students Share Cryptography and Algebraic Graph Studies at FMIPA Unila
Bandar Lampung – The Master of Mathematics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) University of Lampung (Unila) again held a Seminar Series on Monday, June 8 2026. The seminar which took place in Room R2 of the Mathematics Department from 13.00 to 16.00 WIB raised the theme Cryptography and Algebraic Graph by presenting two presenters from the Program Doctor of Mathematics FMIPA Gadjah Mada University (UGM), namely Annisa Dini Handayani, S.ST., M.Si. and Felicia Servina Djuang, S.Si., M.Sc.
The first material was delivered by Annisa Dini Handayani through a presentation entitled "Bilinear Pairing and its Implementation in Data and Information Security". In her presentation, Annisa explained the concept of bilinear pairing as an important component in the development of modern cryptography. He explained the role of this method in building a reliable digital security system, including its application to encryption and authentication mechanisms to protect data and information.
In the second session, Felicia Servina Djuang presented material entitled “Research on Algebraic Graphs and Its Applications”. He explained the latest developments in the study of algebraic graphs and their use in various fields, such as communication networks, optimization and data structure analysis. The delivery of comprehensive, application-based material provides broader insight into research opportunities in this field.
The seminar activities were guided by Alia Ayu Destriyanti, a student from the Mathematics Department of Mathematics at Unila FMIPA, who acted as moderator. The discussion was active and interactive with high participation from participants consisting of undergraduate students, master's students and lecturers. The enthusiasm of the participants was seen from the many questions and responses that emerged during the discussion session.
A conducive and dynamic academic atmosphere also supported the success of this activity. The topic raised was considered relevant to current developments in science and technology, so that it was able to attract the attention of participants from various levels of education.
As a series of closing events, Dr. Fitriani, S.Si., M.Sc., as Coordinator of the FMIPA Unila Mathematics Masters Study Program. Through this activity, the Master of Mathematics Study Program hopes to continue to foster a strong academic culture and encourage increased student interest in research, especially in the fields of cryptography and algebraic graphs.
